Job Description

We are hiring for a private practice looking for Ppsychologists.

Our client offers full time permanent as well as contract employment opportunities. 

They offer complete administrative support including access to high quality psychometric tools, archiving of files, client referrals through their well established waiting list, professional support from a multidisciplinary team, and modern bright, fully furnished offices.

Responsibilities

Psychological Assessment and Evaluation

  • Conduct clinical interviews, administer psychological tests, and evaluate mental, emotional, and behavioral functioning.

  • Diagnose mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, personality disorders, and others using DSM-5 or ICD criteria.

 

Treatment Planning and Intervention

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs, diagnosis, and goals.

  • Provide psychotherapy using evidence-based approaches (e.g., CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, humanistic).

  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed.

 

Patient Support and Counseling

  • Help clients manage and cope with life challenges, emotional distress, trauma, and chronic mental illness.

  • Foster mental health awareness, resilience, and adaptive coping skills.

 

Crisis Intervention

  • Respond to mental health emergencies such as suicidal ideation, panic attacks, or severe behavioral issues.

  • Conduct risk assessments and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.

 

Collaboration and Referral

  • Coordinate care with psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, schools, or other professionals.

  • Refer clients to additional support services when needed (e.g., medication management, social programs).

 

Documentation and Record-Keeping

  • Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records, session notes, and treatment summaries.

  • Prepare reports for insurance providers, schools, or courts when applicable.

 

Psychoeducation and Advocacy

  • Educate clients, families, and communities about mental health, treatment options, and self-care strategies.

  • Advocate for clients’ mental health needs within healthcare, education, or workplace systems.

 

Research and Continuing Education

  • Stay updated on current psychological research, therapies, and best practices.

  • Conduct or contribute to research studies to advance psychological knowledge and practice.

 

Ethical Practice and Compliance

  • Adhere to professional ethics, legal standards, and confidentiality guidelines (e.g., HIPAA, APA Code of Ethics).

  • Maintain active licensure and participate in regular supervision or peer consultation when required.

 

Supervision and Training (when applicable)

  • Supervise interns, students, or junior clinicians in training settings.

  • Provide training workshops or seminars on mental health topics.

Requirements

Psychology graduate looking for an entry level role and to practice with supervision. 

OR

Experienced Psychologisy who is an active member in good standing with the Order of Psychology in Quebec (OPQ).
